Schmaltz Delicatessen and restaurant was founded in 2004 in Naperville with the goal of providing premium quality authentic Jewish Deli experience to everyone! That includes serving high quality, oversized portions with great Customer Service. Our move in 2022 to Lisle allowed us to have our own building and parking lot, drive thru window, expanded Deli and Restaurant sections, Private dining and Back Patio.

We are known for our award-winning, overstuffed Corned Beef and Pastrami sandwiches, matzo ball soup, bagels, breakfast plates and our fresh bakery. Schmaltz Deli was originally founded by a Culinary Institute of America graduate and former chef at the Four Seasons, who decided his friends and neighbors deserved a great New York style deli that was accessible. Today, the Deli is majority owned by The Goodman Family who continue to build upon the original vision.

Though now retired, Executive Chef Michael Garbinβs culinary legacy continues to shape the menu. With 26 years at the prestigious Union League Club, he was instrumental in elevating the clubβs cuisine, leaving a lasting imprint through numerous menu enhancements. A recipient of top industry honorsβincluding CEC (Certified Executive Chef) and AAC (American Academy of Chefs)βChef Garbin's most distinguished accolade remains his lifetime membership in the Honorable Order of the Golden Toque, an honor held by only 100 chefs nationwide.
